April Fool's Day
Did you know that Seth Lake (the Astor House's first
proprietor) was notorious for playing pranks on
April Fool's Day? Come out to the Astor House Museum
for a fun day of Victorian-era games, activities,
and tricks in the spirit of Seth Lake. Figure out
what is wrong in our historic boarding house and
play some tricks on your friends and family.

Chihuly Venetians: from the George R.
Stroemple Collection
The exhibition will showcase over 45 works from
Chihuly's most innovative and unusual series
inspired by Art Deco Venetian art. The highlight of
the exhibition is the famous Laguna Murano
Chandelier that has over 1500 separate pieces of
glass that make up five separate elements. The
exhibition also features a number of Bottle
Stoppers, Putti and Piccolo Venetian glass vases and
a number of original drawings by Chihuly related to
the Venetians.
Open Daily: Monday to Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00
p.m. and Sunday, 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.
Admission is $10.00 for adults; $8.00 for seniors
(over 65); $5.00 for students (with a valid id) and
youth 7-18. Admission is free to museum members. Foothills

Freshly Brewed History
Boarding houses like the Astor House served an important
role as community gathering centers in the old West.
Carrying on that tradition, Golden History Museums
introduces "Freshly Brewed History," a new spin on the
traditional Astor House tea. Join us for delicious local
coffees, gourmet breakfast pastries, and terrific
conversation about Golden history. Our first guest
speaker will be announced on February 1st. 9:30 to
11:00 a.m. $9, Members $7. Astor House

Jefferson Symphony Orchestra Recital Series
Join the Jefferson Symphony Orchestra for its
inaugural recital series showcasing the talents of
JSO musicians in small ensembles. The recital series
is an opportunity to share a varied repertoire of
classical music with our audience in a more intimate
setting. It's beautiful music in a relaxing
atmosphere. 7:00 p.m. $10. Golden
